Nineteen year old Ray Rowson is the first rider to be recruited by CCM Racing’s new Sporting Director David Thorpe, as the team readies itself for 2009. The teenager from Shrewsbury has been enjoying a recent run of good form after returning from an early season injury.

As of next week four times World motocross champion David Thorpe will assume his full role as Sporting Director of CCM Racing. Thorpe will first fulfil his prior commitment by competing in the final round of the FIM Veteran World championship this coming weekend, before switching his full attention to steering the Bolton based team forward ready for the 2009 season.

Kristian Whatley, son of former GP rider Jeremy Whatley, made a winning debut for CCM when he romped to a convincing first race victory at Round three of the British MMX Under 21 years old championship held at Dean Moor.

CCM Racing registered a race finish in a wet and windy fifth round of eight in the 2008 Maxxis ACU British Motocross championship at the sandy Desertmartin circuit in Northern Ireland last weekend.
