Marco Belli and CCM score a double European victory |

Marco Belli on board his CCM FT510 confirmed why he is recognised as one of the hottest stars on the current Short Track tour, when he recorded back to back wins at the opening two rounds of the International Mefo Flattrack Cup 2008, which is regarded as the European championship of the sport.
Fresh from his second place at the initial round of the Shorttrack UK series, it was obvious that Belli had benefitted from having spent more time on board his new mount before he headed to Germany. The 400m long circuit at Guestrow provided the prefect platform for the Italian to show his true style as he came home ahead of arch rival Peter Boast, who had narrowly defeated him at Kings Lynn last month.
Just two days later, but this time on a much longer 700m sand track, Belli once again showed the full potential of him and his British built bike as again he romped to his second win in as many days. Despite the faster conditions at Parchim, the 500cc single cylinder CCM FT had no problem in producing the power to put Marco out in front and to further extend his lead in the overall standings.
Speaking about his first wins since joining CCM, Belli enthused about his new machine. “I really enjoyed that, it is always nice to record your first win on a new bike. In truth we were not quite ready for the first event in the UK, but with some extra time on the bike before we went to Germany this really gave us some big improvements.”
“Now I am beginning to feel at home on the CCM, so that I can express myself fully when necessary. Each race I feel more comfortable and more able to push harder so my speed is really coming on. The sheer speed of the bike, especially on the sand track is incredible, and the overall package is really good. I am confident that we are now ready to win as many races as possible.”
Belli will be back in the UK this coming weekend to take part in the inaugural “Champions of Shorttrack” meeting that will take place as part of the massive BMF show held at the East of England Showground, Peterborough just off the A1.
